Colleen is a Registered Social Worker with a Masters Degree in Social Work (primary focus in palliative care). She has worked as a clinical social worker in Mental Health and in Cancer Care. Colleen is experienced in working with both adults and children. Her work with children and families is rooted in her post secondary education in Early Childhood Development.
Trained through Dr. Peter Levine’s Trauma Institute, Colleen is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. Outside of clinical practice, she enjoys assisting at SE trainings, and is certified to provide personal sessions to beginner level SE students.
In January 2018 Colleen entered full time private practice. She is passionate about clinical counseling and strengthening mental wellness. She believes that being seen, heard and understood both by self and others, changes lives.
Colleen’s primary areas of clinical practice include psychosocial cancer care, the hero/heroine’s journey, post-partum depression, loss/grief, and adjustment disorder.
Colleen is also a yoga teacher who offers a SE trauma-informed yoga class to cancer patients and their caregivers at Breathe Cycle and Yoga Studio.
